Live music in the Kingdom Halls
by Quillsky ini recall being young and having a lovely solo pianist accompanying the singing in our hall.. in around the late 70's the obligatory (canned, sad) recorded music replaced live musicians.. anyone have any more detailed memories of live music and the subsequent changeover?.

Bad time here
by Decided inmy life is in a bad state right now.
i'm in debt so far i will never get it paid off, can't even make the payments.
my two step kids are living with me right now, both are going through a bad marriage.

The old saying you can't get BLOOD from a Stone... is true.
I went thru a very similar situation and was overwelmed and VERY Depressed. I was watching History Channel about life in the Roman Empire.
And how they had the same problems with debt and collection and these people died over 2000 yrs ago and no one cares that Pompielus owed Demituaura 29400 today. It struck me I wasn't the only one who went thru this..... why lose sleep over it. It is stress full!!
But the Whole WORLD it seems is going broke..... so why are you so different you may feel. Every Collector I talked to makes it feel like you are trash for falling behind!!! Well they are well trained so that must MEAN.... it wasn't people like US ...... they'd be out of WORK!

Shaddap You Face
by minimus inin 1980 a song was out on the radio called shaddap you face.
it was supposed to be a fun song mimicking italians saying what sounded like shut up a your face.. i remember having parents bringing their children to me for counsel because their kids would giggle and sing this song.
some jw parents thought it was a terrible song, disrespectful and ungodly.. i remember telling one hardline parent that i kind of thought the song was funny and that it might not be such a big deal.

The Master spoke to me this morning. . .
by Inkie inthis morning as i lay lying in bed i was listening to music on the radio station on my headset.
when i do this, i do this so as not to disturb the wife while she is sleeping.
only this morning, she had already risen and was downstairs getting ready to go to work and just about to walk out the door.

It's funny how you can forget how good the 70's music scene was..... Rock Gospel Disco Soul Reggae Pop John Williams my god the music had so much to offer..... Yes I loved alot of Disco songs.... there was just to much to absorb back then so much MUSIC.
Think back then and tell me the 70's music was lame....
60's had the BEST BANDS AND GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!
